1954
Technical education begins
TTU traces its institutional history to the Government Technical Institute established in April 1954.
A tertiary pathway emerges
Polytechnic reforms created a tertiary HND context that shaped the environment for applied arts and Commercial Arts education.
1993–1994
2008
A dedicated department is formed
The Department of Graphic Design Technology was created from the former Fine Art Department.
A technical university context
Takoradi Polytechnic became Takoradi Technical University, marking a new institutional chapter.
2016
